The Hawthorne Shuffleboard Club hosted the first State Tournament on 10/10 and 10/11.  Congratulations to all the players who came for the challenge and especially those members who represented the Northern District.  Rod Lewis was the Director and All FL Roofing was the sponsor.  So, for State Tournaments, only the Northern District is posted, please visit the FSA website for more information.

NO TWO PROS tournament initially to be played at Tavares next Thursday and Friday, October 6 & 7, has officially been canceled per president Walt Bartels.  There is no makeup tournament planned or scheduled at this time. 

I am sending this for Walt.  He is still having difficulty with his computer.  

The Tournament scheduled for this Thursday Sept 29 in Deland is canceled due to the Hurricane that is coming through.   Please notify all of your members and stay safe.

 We will all look forward to the having our first Tournament in Tavares October 6.

Just a quick note to thank everyone for their wonderful thoughts and because of great care from his doctors, I am happy to report that Rich Burrell is home, playing occasional shuffleboard and doing much better.

Arlene Jabaut tells us that she just got a call from Walt. Rich Burrell is still in the hospital with a blood clot and the Dr’s are trying to clear it. We would like to ask everyone to keep Richie in their thoughts and prayers.

There were 6 players attending fromthe Northern District.  Congratulations to the following Northern District players –

• Carol Helfer won a silver medal in the Ladies singles and a 4th place in the doubles.
• Marilyn Mills and Larry Mills placed 4th in the doubles. 
• Larry Mills won a silver medal in the Mens singles.
• Paul Hodges won a silver medal in the Mens singles. 
• Darryl Kenyon won a Bronze in the Mens singles.
• Paul Ayotte won a Gold medal in the Mens  singles and a Gold medal in the doubles.

Note that There were several different events within many age group categories.
